Creating A Mufasa Effect
Creating A Mufasa Effect
In the Disney movie "The Lion King", Mufasa is the great king of the pride lands. He's strong, wise, brave, fair, and a Dad.
When Disney designed him as a character, they wanted to intentionally have him represent the "Perfect Dad."
If you watched the movie, you’ll know how short his exposure time was. The iconic character is only in the movie for 11 minutes and 43 seconds.
Yet, His lessons stick with his family and kids long after he has passed away. Even when his son became lost and uncertain of his own identity, Mufasa's words reminded him of who he was and what he could become!
This is the Mufasa Effect... This is the real impact.
That is what we are striving for as husbands and fathers. To have the lessons we teach today have such an impact that they will continue to shape, mold, and help our children achieve their full potential even after we are gone.
Now more than ever, the world needs powerful Dads. Because if we do not devote ourselves to nurturing and developing our children; If we are not leading and teaching them, the world is; And if you are anything like me that scares the shit out of you.
By default, the world teaches our children a messed up definition of success. Just take a look at any social media platform to see what society is truly teaching…
Think of yourself first
Quit when things get tough
It's all about the instant gratification
Everyone gets a participation trophy so don't work too hard
If you're not social media worthy, your worthless
Our kids need us now, more than ever.
They need Dad! They need what only a dad can bring. A house leader who strikes a rare mix between tough and loving.
Someone who can call each of their kids out and up with a simple look. Someone who instills the qualities and characteristics of true success in life.
In each of our kids eyes, we are superheroes SO LET’S FREAKING ACT LIKE IT.
Let’s focus on creating a REAL impact at home.
You may be short on time, but you are not short on energy. Invest it in your partner, in your children. Work extra hard this week to invest in your families!
This is going to be hard. You are going to get tired. You are going to want to sit down and just chill for a moment.
When you feel that way, remember the Mufasa Effect. Take a deep breath, then get back out there and brush that hair, drink the pretend tea, throw that baseball one more time.
Your kids need it and I promise YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!
